Sunday

Thanksgiving Holiday is here, it occurred to me last night in the form of a picture of what this time is all about.  While I am thankful for a great many things, in a dogs' world, they are grateful because of their attitude and look on life, and I envy them because of that.  Our life is complicated, and theirs is not.

I want to give you Thanksgiving from a dog's point of view.  In the line of work that Clancy's Dream and many of our followers deal with, sometimes, we see the worse case there is, but today, let's give thanks. While it's been a hectic year, we have helped more dogs than all of the past years put together.  All of this happens because of...

Our readers and followers

Our fosterers

Our transporters

Our friends

The person who opened their wallet

The person who opens their heart

The person who opens their lap

The doctors and clinics that work with us

The person who understands

The person who took a chance

The person who helped

Sometimes, it is only a few of these reasons; other times, it is all of them.

Clancy's Dream would be a myth if you, our followers, did not. We have limitless love and a caring heart to do the impossible. And while this might seem far-fetched, many heartworm-positive dogs have been saved and treated. Working with four puppy mills and past breeders this year resulted in nearly 30 additional dogs beyond those in our shelter, along with private relinquished dogs that found new homes. Besides taking in unwanted dogs, we also spayed and neutered our own personal dogs. Just when it feels impossible, someone or everyone steps up to help and do what is needed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, from the Board of Directors of Clancy's Dream. It's only about the dog...

A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.
She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, "Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can't save all these starfish. You can't begin to make a difference!"
The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, "Well, I made a difference to that one!"
The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said. Inspired, he joined the little girl in throwing starfish back into the sea. Soon others joined, and all the starfish were saved.

Working with the dogs is not always someone's cup of tea; however, you can volunteer or take supplies or even donate to a fund that you trust, they can always use our help, remember the shelter depends on us as do the dogs.

I will tell you; there is nothing more satisfying than to know "You" saved a dog from certain death and made the new owner the happiest person in the world because they have the perfect dog….Ken

I have always mentioned, all my stories come from one thought, one word, or one photo.  They are never planned but always come from the Heart, and this photo did it, you will never be able to grasp where the dog came from and the new life she has today.   Ken
